Shopping
Badenweiler
The heart of Badenweiler's shopping mile is the Luisenstraße, situated between Schlossplatz and Zoellinplatz. From Haute Couture to jewellery or souvenirs- many delightful shops, restaurants, cafés and taverns invite you to shop and stroll leisurely through Badenweiler. Lets go shopping in a region which is full of high quality wines and other local popular specialties.
Freiburg
A stroll through the lively old town of Freiburg is very worthwhile. Here, alongside large stores and specialised shops you will also find fashion boutiques, perfumeries, jewelry shops, book shops, art and antiques stores and toy or leather stores. In one of the many souvenir shops you are guaranteed to find a postcard that captures Freiburg’s charm perfectly.
Stroll through the weekly market located on Münsterplatz (work days 7am to 1pm) and visit the colourful booths on the Rotteckring street, where North African and Indian goods are on sale, or stroll through the large shopping arcades like the “Black Forest City” (Schiffstraße) the “Karlsbaupassage/ Karlsbau arcade" (Karlsplatz) or the glass dome of the “Atrium” on Augustinerplatz.
Basel
If you like to discover the city while shopping Basel is perfect for you. There, it is easy to combine shopping with sightseeing.
You will find a great selection of luxury brands like Hermès, Louis Vouitton or Rolex, but you will also see a variety of shoe shops, book stores or extraordinary specialties. You have the choice between the large shopping centers and the small boutiques. No matter what you are looking for: you'll go home with a lot of things.
Zurich
Exclusive boutiques, selected stores, classy department stores, second hand shops and bookstores in large numbers are centred on one square kilometer, so everything is within walking distance. Start with the Bahnhofstrasse, the most famous of that name around the world. The Bahnhofstrasse also includes various branch roads such as Schweizergasse, Rennweg, Augustinergasse and In Gassen, which all increase, with various designer shops, the attractiveness of the total area.
The Löwenstrasse, which runs parallel to the Bahnhofstrasse, made reasonable efforts in recent years. The Bahnhofstrasse and the Löwenstrasse end to the main station, which acommodates the huge shopping center "rail city" since the construction of the underground S-Bahn station. In the underground passages are a gazillion shops that are open on weekdays and Sundays until 21 to 20 clock.
Mulhouse
Do you like crispy croissants? At the patisserie Scherrer (2 Rue Bonbonnière) you will find delicious pastries. You will get the perfect espresso in the café roasting Reck (24 Rue Henriette).
There you can also buy premium coffee, tea and chocolate. Cheese lovers can find everything in Au Bouton d'Or (5 Place de la Réunion | www.auboutondor.fr). Do not miss one of the best cheese shops in the region, where you can choose among some 270 varieties. Candy lovers come into temptation in the Patisserie Jacques (50 Avenue Altkirch | www.patisserie-jacques.com).
You may also visit the shopping centers: L'Espace Reunion and Cour des Maréchaux. Less elegant but colorful is in bazaar-style Marché du Canal Couvert (Rue Aristide Briand) on Tuesday, Thursday and especially on Saturday.
